History
In 1932, Ernest V. Ongaro founded Ongaro Plumbing and opened his first shop in Fairfax, California. By 1940 he relocated the company to San Anselmo, California where we continue to operate. Heating repair and installation were added to the services Ongaro provided and sons Donald, Ernest and Richard joined to help with the growing company.
After 40 years in business, Ernest V. retired. The third generation has joined the ever-growing Ongaro & Sons starting with current President, Ernest J., grandson of Ernest V. During the 1980s, Ongaro & Sons celebrated its 50th anniversary and grandsons, Dean, Mitch, and Paul Ongaro joined the company. In 1999, our founder, Ernest V. passed away.
In April, 2001, Ongaro & Sons purchased Crane & Son Plumbing & Heating, a company that has been serving Sonoma County since 1945. Today we are continuing with the tradition of providing all our customers with quality workmanship and exceptional service.
In order to stay on the cutting edge of our industry, and as new technology and programs become available, Ongaro & Sons has made changes to provide the best products and services to Bay area customers.
We maintain a steadfast commitment to employee education and career development. Our technicians are continuously updated on industry improvements and changes. They attend classes sponsored by industry leaders and attend PHCC (Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors) training classes as well as others that help them improve their knowledge base. Our Customer Service Department professionally handles all incoming phone calls. We collect initial information over the phone to be sure that all our customers' needs are properly met.
We adopted quoted service pricing for repair/replacement sales and have become a Trane Comfort Specialist dealer, an esteem honor, so we can continue to offer the most reliable heating and cooling equipment available. To assure our customers of the safest and healthiest indoor environment, we've joined Comfort Institute and now offer Whole House Comfort Checkups using the latest technology available. We also use advanced test equipment including duct testers, blower doors, flow hoods, duct and sewer cameras to name a few.
All Service Calls go to our dispatch department for service and our lead source coordinator for equipment replacement. Our professional crews take pride in their work. They arrive wearing company uniforms in easily identifiable vehicles. We carefully protect customers' property and take extra steps to ensure that our customers' floors, walls and furnishings are covered when needed. All our technicians wear shoe covers in customers' homes.
Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. We feel the key to 100% customer satisfaction is customer involvement. Whether it's service or new equipment replacement, we go through a customer consultation process. We find out what is important to you, the customer, and let you know all your options. We find this process provides you with the highest level of satisfaction.
